Dredging a hurdle for San Rafael landowners

San Rafael’s Canal, a federal waterway frequented by yachts and fishing boats, is due for a dredging. Over the roughly eight years since its last dredging, silt has built up, making the bottom of the Canal increasingly shallow; it’s as low as two feet in some areas. In response, the city has secured federal funds to pay the Army Corps of Engineers to carry out the project this fall.
